At Ferrari & Maserati of New England, I had the privilege of creating a sophisticated and user-friendly mobile app tailored to the needs of business stakeholders and leaders. By distilling crucial information from relevant reports into an intuitive interface, I empowered decision-makers to access and interpret data swiftly and effectively. Join me in exploring how I harnessed design principles to enhance data-driven decision-making and redefine the way information is presented in the automotive realm.

Problem Statement

The challenge at hand revolved around catering to users who found themselves consistently on the move, attending meetings and interacting with diverse individuals. Unfortunately, these users lacked the luxury of spending extended periods at their desks to peruse critical reports. The pressing need was for a mobile app that could swiftly present report data, empowering users to access essential information while on the go.

Users and Audience

The app's users encompass business stakeholders and leaders affiliated with Ferrari and Maserati of New England.

Roles and Responsibilities

In this project, I undertook a multifaceted role that encompassed comprehending the necessary reports, delineating diverse filtering options, and conducting user research to grasp the specific requirements of my niche target audience. I was also responsible for crafting wireframes, translating them into a visually appealing UI design, and ensuring its aesthetic refinement.

Scope and Constraints

The project's scope entailed the incorporation of all essential reports, with the added limitation of being confined to a mobile device. Consequently, I needed to devise a strategy to effectively present these reports within the constraints of a mobile interface. Finally, this project had a tight time constraint and had to be executed in an efficient manner.

The Process

The project workflow commenced with comprehensive user research aimed at understanding the reports slated for integration. With a firm grasp of the report requirements and project scope, I proceeded to develop initial paper prototypes, consistently iterating upon and refining them throughout the process.

Following the development of paper prototypes, I proceeded to craft wireframes that illustrated the potential user flow. Through usability testing, feedback highlighted the necessity for additional reports. This pivot influenced the navigation design, leading to adjustments reflected in the two bottom paper prototypes in the image above.

With the wireframes refined based on the received feedback, the focus shifted to shaping the UI. A specific requirement emerged to visually distinguish between Ferrari and Maserati reports. Given the luxury brand status of both Ferrari and Maserati, it held paramount importance to end users that the app exuded a luxurious ambiance.

The Result

The reporting app for Ferrari and Maserati of New England embodies the aspiration to present in line with a luxury brand aesthetic. This enhancement empowers business stakeholders to efficiently access reports while on the move. The resultant boost in productivity stems from the solution this app offers – enabling real-time data checks on mobile devices. The accomplishment of this project is evident, as it successfully addressed the target audience's needs, eliciting appreciation from the leadership of Ferrari and Maserati of New England.
